2CH Classic Hits is a commercial radio station situated in Sydney, NSW. It is on-airs content in an oldies format. Therefore, the listeners of this station belong to the old age group. FM branded as Classic hits 2CH. Pacific Star Network operates the functions of 2CH. Along with music, it also broadcasts Christian announcements during its advertisement break.
About 2CH Classic Hits
The station launched its first show on 15 February 1932. The initial operation frequency was 1210 kHz. In 1935, it reserved its frequency to its current one. After issuing a license to Amalgamated Wireless (Australasia), the programs went on-air six days a week. The Council of Churches organized the content of these programs on Sundays. NSW owned the station, but John Singleton purchased it in April 1994. Hence, it became a part of Macquarie Radio Network.
It organized a thanks-giving ceremony on 18th February 2007 as it completed 75 years of broadcasting. The ceremony was held at St Andrew’s Anglican Cathedral. In January 2017, the Consortium of Oceania Capital Partners, Glenn Wheatley, and John Williams bought this station for 5.6 million dollars. After facing a loss of 1.9 million dollars, Pacific star Network bought this station in June 2020.
