About ABC Radio National
ABC Radio Nation launched its first show on 5th December 1923 on public license fees. In 1928, Postmaster-General’s Department controlled the operations of all public license fee stations. In 1932, Australian Broadcasting Corporation and National Broadcasting Service formed a commission. This commission established a distinguished network within ABC Company. The station originated its network in Newcastle on 20th December 1943.
