Historically stating, this channel broadcasted its first show on September 10, 1963, at 1490 AM. The initial call sign of this radio was CFWB-FM. On August 30, 2007, this radio station received the approval of the application for broadcasting on the FM dial. CRTC approved the station selected frequency on March 19, 2008. At last, on December 10, 2008, the station shifted from AM to FM band, along with the changing of call sign as the current one. On the same day, the station rebranded as ‘The River’, which was changed into the current one in 2014’s summers, with the current radio format.
