CFNR FM is a radio station that is founded in Terrace in the region of British Columbia, Canada. The station’s owner is Northern Native Broadcasting. It targets an audience of almost 150000 listeners. The format that it follows is classic rock. This radio features events pertaining to culture, e.g. the celebrations of Hobiyee. Other cultural events include National indigenous people day, broadcasting of cultural sports like All native tournament on an annual basis, and All native basketball tournaments for juniors.
This radio is particularly for rockers by the rockers. It is in connection with over 80 communities that are in the northern and central areas of British Columbia. History of CFNR FM
This station got approval from CRTC in July 1992. As a result, Northern Native Broadcasting was issued a license for a bilingual station in the region of Terrace. It got a license for English as well as Native language. It also got approval for operating different transmitters in the northern region of British Columbia. The next year, the station was allowed to operate more transmitters in addition to the previous ones.
Then, in 1994, it got a license to install a transmitter at Terrace. The CRTC issued the owner of CFNR a license in June 2017. According to that license, the owners could run a station in the region of Vancouver. The frequency of this station would be 106.3 MHz. But due to some issues related to non-compliance, its license was canceled. The call letters of the new station would be CJNY FM.
