CKDJ 107.5 FM is the campus broadcasting radio station of Ottawa’s Algonquin College. In 1972, FM was on-air as a closed-circuit outlet using the call letter CBRT (College Broadcasting Radio Television). In 1994, CRTC approved radio stations to broadcast on the FM band. Then, the same year on October 3, it was signed on-air. Initially, Its transmission frequency was 96.9 FM with a power of only 8 watts. In 2003, it flipped to its current frequency. Its studios and transmitter are on campus in Nepean.
It is a class A1 station. FM also broadcast at 1700 kHz on the AM dial with a very low-power radio station, known as “AIR AM 1700 | All Hit Radio.” Its programming content consists of new entertainment, weather reports, traffic updates, information, and all-time hit music. FM uses the slogan “Ottawa’s New Music.” The station only plays Ottawa artists. It transmits on 107.9 MHz frequency on the FM band. The radio can also be listened to in the communities around the campus and through live transmission on the official website.
