CKUT 90.3 is a campus-community non-profit radio station broadcasting from McGill University. The Canadian radio station broadcasts news, alternative music, and spoken word programming to Montreal city and surrounding areas. Its transmission can be listened to at 90.3 MHz on the FM dial, 91.7 by cable, or listened to online. More than 200 volunteers work with a team of coordinators at the station to run the radio as well as produce intelligent and creative radio programming. It uses a system of collective management in which volunteers participate in decision-making.
In addition, it serves as a training ground for the common people and student body. Volunteers at CKUT work on committees, program shows, announce, make documentaries, conduct interviews, write radio dramas, find music, and generally make CKUT what it is.
