HOT 93.5 is a broadcasting radio station from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Stingray Group is the station’s owner and manages its sister channel CHNO FM. It broadcasts CHR/Top 40 radio format at 93.5 MHz on the FM band. The station’s current call sign is CIGM FM which means CI George Miller (One of the early partners in the Sudbury radio station business). Its effective broadcasting power is 43 kW Vertical and 100 kWs Horizontal with a class C1 station. The channel transmits hot trending tracks, national and international news, talk shows, entertainment, information, and weather forecast. It airs programming on 93.5 MHz and also streams live to entertain a worldwide audience on the internet.
History of HOT 93.5 FM
With the call letter CKSO-FM, the station began at 92.7 FM in 1965. It airs a more extensive schedule of CBC Radio programming than its AM sister station CKSO. In 1978, CBC Radio received a license for its O&O station, CBCS FM. After that, it adapted the CIGM calls and a country format. Cambrian Broadcasting was the owner of both CIGM and CKSO. Standard Broadcasting acquired Telemedia in 2002. Shortly after, Rogers Radio purchased CJRQ, CIGM, and CJMX from Standard.
