Kol Hanegev FM (רדיו קול הנגב) is an educational radio station airing live from Ashqelon, Israel. The station is operated by the School of Communication at Sapir College and Community Arnon, Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council. It on-air its transmission by using 106.4 MHz frequency on the FM band. It is broadcasting Israeli music, current affairs, satire, sports magazines, culture and leisure, interviews, and live performances in the studio with artists. FM gives the students access to digital broadcast studios, advanced editing rooms, portable recording equipment, and a digital music library. It works with the slogan of “Voice of the Negev.”
History of Kol Hanegev FM 106.4 (רדיו קול הנגב):
The station started its broadcasting in March 1997. It played the first song on the FM was “In the Air.” It began regular broadcasting after a three-month experience. It designed countless, unique programs for six days a week, from morning to midnight. When the military operations start in Gaza Strip, Sapir College closed its doors. During operations, FM provides updates on environments, events, and keeps an eye on the local pulse. FM trained many professionals in the field of radio and media. It gives additional services for every student and for those who are involved in crafts. It promotes creativity, responsibility, and action.
