History of Hot FM 88.2:

On February 6, 2006, it began to broadcast its transmission. In the beginning, it was operated as Wa FM, and the owner was an actor and producer Tiara Jacquelina. Later on, Media Prima obtained it and began test transmission from 15 January 2006 to 6 February 2006 and all the operations led by Sathiaseelan a/l Paul Thurai. The slogan of this channel is “Muzik Paling Hangat,” translated as “The Hottest Music.”

The traditional rival of this radio is Era FM. In 2009 the Hot FM first time charted as top among other radio stations in Malaysia with 3.8 million weekly listeners. Era FM reached only 3.76 million listeners in a week.
