CBS News started operating back in 1927. The CBS chief, William S. Paley, appointed journalist Paul W. White as an editor of CBS news in 1930. In 1933 White assumed the office of general manager in charge and vice president and helped raise CBS news to horizons of success. In 1935, CBS started its European operations. ANd in 1941 CBS Television emerged as the pioneer TV station in New York airing only two programs on weekdays. CBS had been a pivotal service in world war II news coverage. As per critical recent developments, CBS News signed a content-sharing contract with BBC News in 2017.
