It has affiliations of CBS Sports Radio, San Francisco Giants Radio Network. Its studios and offices are situated on Battery Street in San Francisco. The transmitter is set in La Avanzada Street, Sutro Tower.

This radio station began its transmission as KBAY-FM on February 4, 1960. Kaiser Broadcasting owned this channel at that time and on aired “good music” format. Its call signs changed into KFOG in 1964 and began to use beautiful music format.
The channel began to provide album-oriented rock (AOR) and classic rock, on September 16, 1982. Its brand-named was “Timeless Rock”. Susquehanna Radio Corp. purchased this radio station in 1989. Later on, Cumulus Media took charge of this channel. In August 1995, the name of its brand known as “KFOG 97.7 and 104.5”. Its call letters changed into KFFG. Then it moved to its current call signs KNBR-FM.
