Heartbeat 107.4 FM is a Christen community broadcasting radio station situated in Oudtshoorn, South Africa. In 2012, I developed the station idea to serve the Christen community, especially those who didn’t attend regular church prayers for many reasons due to disability and age. Its goal is to serve and promote communities’ interests and offer excellence and sustainable Christian programming content. After that, FM applied for the most available frequency from ICASA. In 2013, the station idea was processing with community meetings.
In September 2013, the ICASA granted fiver year permanent Christen radio broadcasting license. From George studio, FM hit the airways on 29 May 2014. In 2018, it launched Klein Karoo frequency (107.4) and also broadcast to the greater Oudtshoorn and Kannaland Municipal areas. Heartbeats FM has more than 170 000 listenership and has become one of the country’s largest Christen community radio stations. Heartbeat 107.4 FM broadcasting languages are 60% Afrikaans, 20% English, and 20% isiXhosa. The programming content is based on community discussions, debates, community-building, and public interactions.
The station’s vision is to provide information about the remarkable life-changing events that bring the message of hope and positive thinking. The primary target of the station is to cover christian religion Christianity, faith, love, and hope. Its mission is to support and develop our community’s natural talents, physical, spiritual, psychological, technical, and commercial. The transmission frequency is 107.4 MHz on the FM band. Its tagline is “Your Heartbeat for Life.” FM on-air worldwide transmission via online streaming is available on the internet.
