It was established in 1955, and on May 14, 2017, it was closed when the Israel Voice transmission ended. The new station 88 FM started on May 15, 2017, as part of the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation. Initially, it was called “Voice of the Road to Business” and transmit music, economic, and business news. In 2001, it changed its name to 88 FM. In August 2001, Finance Minister Silvan Shalom gave finance’s economic policy for 2002, including a plan to privatize Network C and the 88FM station.
It canceled the privatization plan in 2002. In 2004, it canceled on-air business reports and stock exchange updates and began traffic information and music. The broadcasting areas are Central Israel, Safed, Galilee, Southern Arava, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and surroundings, and Haifa. During its period of service, many changes happened in FM, and now it is one of the leading channels in Israel.
