Radio Bangladesh Betar (বাংলাদেশ বেতার FM) is the national public broadcaster located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It on-airs its transmission by using different frequencies (AM & FM) in different languages. It is an excellent source of music, information, and entertainment. Its program format is based on news, traffic, sports, especially cricket, Top 40 Adult Contemporary, Bangla band interviews, albums concerts, Bengali music, agriculture, population, and weather. History of Bangladesh Betar FM Radio 88.8:
The radio station was founded on 26 August 1927 and officially started broadcasting on 16 December 1939 as a part of All India Radio. Now it belongs to the Government of Bangladesh. In 1954, it began its transmission in Rajshahi, and Leila Arjumand Banu was the first person who performs on the first day of broadcasting. During the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, it played a significant role.

In the beginning, it was located in Nazimuddin Road, old Dhaka, with a maximum 45-kilometre transmission range. During the war, the Pakistani army acquired the station in Dhaka, then Bangladeshi operated Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra (Independent Bengal Radio Station) clandestinely. On 8 September 1960, it was finally moved to its modern office in Shahbag with six professional studios. Later on, it changed its name to Radio Pakistan, and also known as Radio Bangladesh between 1975 and 1996, and finally, it renamed Bangladesh Betar on December 6.
