About Koori Radio 93.7 FM
Koori Radio commenced its broadcasting in June 2001 after separation from Radio Redfern. The ACMA granted silence after 19 successful test broadcasts. It turned on the full-time broadcasting format in December 2001. In 2003, the station shifted to a 50 kW transmitter from 1 kW. The basic purpose which Radio Redfern served was educating the community. Besides this, it provided a communication platform to the indigenous community who were protesting in Sydney. In 1993, Gadigal Information Service bought Koori Radio. Hence, during Sydney 2000 Olympics, it became part of the Indigenous radio broadcasting station. The operational frequency is 93.7 MHz FM.
