FM Derana is a broadcasting radio station located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was launched on 29 March 2009 and owned by PowerHouse LTD. It on-air its transmission using 92.2 MHz frequency in Kikiliyamana, Nayabedda, Ratnapura, Jaffna, and 92.4 MHz frequency in Colombo, Gongala, Hanthana, Gammaduwa in the Sinhala language. FM almost covers 95% area of the Island through its transmission. It works with the slogan of “අපේ දේ රැකගෙන අලුත් දේ අරගෙන” translated as “Embracing novelty while upholding values.” It revolutionizes the radio industry with its simple yet highly entertaining format. It was an exclusive broadcaster of the 2011 Cricket World Cup, which was held from 19 February 2011 to 2 April 2011. People can tune it through official links from anywhere and keep in touch with the station via social media.
