Yolŋu Radio 1530 AM is an Australian radio shows broadcasting station which belongs to Darwin Northern Territory. The Yolngu community has developed this radio station to provide entertainment and information to its people living in northeast Arnhem Land. The medium of communication is all those languages that the Yolngu people are speaking. The station serves many regions, including Darwin and Palmerston, which count listeners from six major communities and 30 homelands. It also has access to remote areas. The content of the station belongs to the culture and language of Aboriginal people.
About Yolŋu Radio 1530 AM
The station commenced broadcasting in 2007 which Aboriginal Resouces Development Services (ARDS) decided to voice the Aboriginal amongst indigenous people of Australia. The frequency of this station is 1530 AM.
Programming
The station is taking steps towards the development of its 24-hour programming. Still, it on-airs programs are pre-recorded or some of the weekly live sessions. Some of the shows of this station are the Yolngu Radio Footy Show which is broadcasted on Wednesday at 4 pm and re-broadcasted on Saturday at 9 am. Our Hour is another show which is broadcasting on Fridays at 1 pm. In addition, homeland News on-airs some of the local news at 11 am on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
