2MCE FM Bathurst is a community radio station, which is locally present on the campus of Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. The broadcasting area of this channel belongs to the communities of Bathurst and Orange and those areas which are near to these communities. CSU’s School of Communication and Creative Industries provides support to 2MCE FM.
About 2MCE FM 92.3:
2MCE FM belongs to the community radio station, which has received the oldest non-metropolitan licenses. It launched its first show in May 1976. Initially, the dedicated staff and members of the community run this station. The station broadcasted its shows from a 170-watt transmitter, located on the top of the library. Later in May 1977, the station situated another transmitter on Mount Panorama. Another transmitter replaced it in 1994. Through renovation in 1989, the studios, located on the university’s campus, got a large area to operate on. Therefore, students also use the same studio for their studies regarding course work.
