History of Beach Radio 750
Melfort granted permission in 1965 to a group led by Minno Walter Hodge to launch a new AM station to cover the Carrot River Valley region. Known initially as CJVR, the station started broadcasting on October 8, 1966, at 1420 kHz. On February 22, 1995, CRTC approved to change the frequency of CJVR from 1420 to 750 kHz, which was vacated by CJWW in Saskatoon. On March 1, 2002, it changed call signs to become CKJH.
Currently, Streaming for this station is not available.
Oldies/classic hits replaced the country format, which moved to the recently launched CJVR FM. The Jim Pattison Group declared on August 20, 2018, that it intended to acquire Fabmar Communications, pending CRTC permission. In Prince Albert, the sale made CKJH and CJVR FM sisters to the Jim Pattison Group’s cluster. With the acquisition, the station changed its format to adult hits as Beach Radio in May 2019, refocusing on popular music from the 1980s and 1990s.
