Rede ABR – WSRO 650 AM is a broadcasting 24/7 Class D radio station based in Ashland, Massachusetts, United States. The whole Metro West is the broadcasting area of the channel. It provides News, Music, and Talk format on 650 kHz frequency. Its talk shows also include Religious and Entertainment programs.
Introduction of Rede ABR – WSRO 650 AM:
It uses the Portuguese language as a medium of communication in the programming. WSRO is popular in the public with its branding name Rede ABR. Its famous slogan is ‘A Su Rádio Brasileira.’ On May 19, 1970, the station started its transmission in Peterborough, New Hampshire. In Ashland, it went on air first time on February 9, 1997. In the daytime, it consumes 1,500 watts power while in the nighttime, it uses 100 watts power. WZBR and WBAS are its sister stations. WSRO also runs translator radio channels W271CU based in Framingham. W271CU uses 102.1 frequency on the FM band. Alex Langer, a Broadcasting company, owns Rede ABR and all of its sister stations.
Owners and Former Callsigns:
From 1970 to 1981, the callsigns were WSCV. From 1981 till 1989, it shifted its callsigns from WSCV to WRPT. Later, it became WMDK from 1989 to 1991. From 1991 to 1999, it adopted WRPT as its call letters. Again in 1999 till 2002, WJLT became its callsigns. After WJLT, finally, it selected its call letters WSRO in February 2003.
In the past, Frank and Beverly Harms of Syracuse, New York, used to own the station. That time John Lawrence Scott managed the station. In 1995, Alex Langer agreed to pay off the then-owners. Alex Langer wanted to return the license of the station to the Federal Communications Commission. But a few times later, he purchased the channel. In 1996, he shifted its frequency to 650 in Ashland, Massachusetts.
The significant shows of the network include The Christian Science Sentinel and A hora da Victoria. AD2 Show, Assembly of God Framingham, Koinonia Chr Church are also famous programs of the channel. Besides them, it also airs La Do Sol Da Vida and Milford Assembly Of God. The listeners also enjoy Missias Santana Assem, Música, Neuza Araujo, Novo Tempo, and Orando & Vencendo. Nowadays, Pare e Pense, and Templo Dos Milagres are also catching the eyes of the audience. The other shows are Pra Cristina Ojerholm, Thiago’s Video, Radio Portugal, Two Kids For Kids, Vem Viver, Vida Manami, and World Revival.
