94.7 Rouge (CHEY FM) is a Canadian radio channel broadcasting French language transmission from Trois-Rivières, Quebec. Bell Media owns and operates it. FM broadcasts on the frequency of 94.7 MHz using a directional antenna with an adequate radiated strength of 20,600 watts on average and 100,000 watts at its peak (class C1). Since its launch in 1990, the station has broadcast an adult contemporary format. It is a member of the “Rouge FM” network covering Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
It began in 1990 as a sister station of CHLN radio, which Cogeco currently owns. The station’s long 21-year tenure ended on August 18, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. EDT, with the “RockDétente” branding. Every “RockDétente” station, including CHEY, changed its name to Rouge FM. “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” by Celine Dion served as the closing song under “RockDétente,” and a tribute to the branding came next. The Black-Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” was the first track under “Rouge.”
