95.7 KYK (CKYK FM) is a Saguenay, Quebec-based French-language radio station in Canada, while Alma holds the station’s official city of license. It is owned and run by Cogeco, which acquired most of the stations belonging to RNC Media in 2018. It broadcasts on 95.7 MHz using a directional antenna with a peak effective radiated strength of 100,000 watts (class C). The station, known as KYK Radio X, broadcasts an active rock format along with some talk radio content.
The radio station first went on air in 1993 at 95.5 FM before switching to its present frequency in 2000. The CRTC permitted the station to add a low-power rebroadcast on 96.3 FM in the center of Alma on April 29, 2008. In 2011, the station adopted a more active rock programming by including some classic rock while keeping the currents of modern rock. In addition, FM broadcasts a variety of programs such as news, entertainment, information, hot topics, weather updates, events, press releases, careers, and traffic reports. The channel also transmits live on the official website to cater worldwide audience.
