Radio Montréal (CFMB) is a multilingual radio station from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Casimir Stanczykowski founded the CFMB in 1962 and officially began transmission on December 21, 1962. The station broadcasts on 1280 kHz frequency with 50,000 watts broadcasting power full time as a class B station. FM uses a directional antenna with different patterns day and night. The station’s transmitter is near Saint-Mathieu, while its studio is on Papineau Avenue, Montreal. It airs full-time transmission through live streaming on the internet worldwide.
Programming of Radio Montréal
The station targets ethnic minorities with a bilingual format. There are 14 different languages for programming. Italian programs are broadcast from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and Hindi and Punjabi broadcasts are audible on weekday evenings. In addition, the Haitian, Filipino, Russian, Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, Macedonian, Chinese, Portuguese, Greek, and Arabic minorities are targeted with evening and weekend feature shows.
