History of Jax Country 105.3:
From October 15, 2013, to May 26, 2014, WYKB aired classic country format. Prior to that, it broadcasted a tropical music format until August 5, 2013. On April 1, 2015, WJSJ went silent. But on November 2, 2015, it returned to air sports from CBS Sports Radio. On July 18, 2016, the channel started a classic dance format, named as “DJ 105.3”. On July 20, 2016, the channel changed its call letters to WZDJ.
While on December 31, 2016, the channel stopped its transmission due to a lack of advertising support and financial issues. On January 2, 2017, the station broadcasted the country formatted WKBX 106.3 Kingsland. On January 13, 2017, WZDJ changes its call signs to WYKB. And on October 16, 2017, it changed its format to classic country, branded as “Jax Country 105.3”.
