Mega 101 – KLOL is a Class C commercial FM radio station in Houston, Texas. The name of its brand is “Mega 101”. It runs its programming in Latin Pop format. The station uses the slogan “Numero Uno en Exitos.” KLOL serves as the Spanish-language flagship station for the Houston Texans Football Team.

History of Mega 101:
KTRH was one of Houston’s top AM stations, associated with The Houston Chronicle. In 1947, an FM station was added, 101.1 KTRH-FM. KTRH-AM-FM broadcasted dramas, comedies, news, sports, soap operas, game shows, and a big band. In the 1950s, the programming changed from radio to TV. In 1965, Rusk Corporation took ownership of the channel. And in 1970, Rusk moved the station to a full-time rock format s KLOL. In the beginning, KLOL was famous as “Mother’s Family” and later “K101”. By the late 1970s, KLOL had moved from progressive rock to an album-oriented rock sound. In 1993, Evergreen Media bought KTRH and KLOL for $49 million. It started to make changes to KLOL’s sound. On February 2, 2017, Entercom took ownership of is station.
KAMA-FM 104.9/93.3 Latino Mix and KOVE-FM Amor 106.5 are major competitors of this channel. 100.3 KIL-FM was another competitor.
