Mello FM is the best and only radio station airing Reggae music from Jamaica. This major market station transmits its programming from St. James, the city of Montego Bay. Its studios and offices are situated at 63 Barnett Street, Montego Bay, Jamaica as well as 3 Cargill Avenue, Kingston, Jamaica. Mello FM specifically uses the Caribbean music/talk format. The radio always stays live around the clock. It broadcast using the frequency of 88.5 Megahertz (MHz) from West Jamaica.

History of Mello FM:

Launched on December 1, 2003, it started broadcasting with the slogan ‘station that plays strong songs.’ On November 1, 2004, it started transmission in the cities of Western Jamaica. These cities Western Jamaica are St. James, Westmoreland, Trelawny, Hanover sections of St. Ann as well as St. Elizabeth. 2010 was a golden period in the history of the station. In the beginning, it only covered the area of Western Jamaica. But, in 2010, its broadcasting covered the whole island.

Aim to Entertain Listeners:

The station aims to compete for the market and entertain the listeners with Reggae music in mellow sound. Its target is to give the best, and new feel to the Reggae music lovers.

MELLO DAYBREAK with Ron Muschette continues from 6:00 am to 7:30 am.
Heather Cummings gives 15 minutes of news highlights in MAJOR NEWS from 7:30 am to 7:45 am.
Ron Muschette again comes live with his show MELLO DAYBREAK from 7:45 am to 10:00 am.
Mello DJ hosts PERFECT MIX with subtitle YOUR STRONG SONGS from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Heather Cummings, the newscaster, gives briefings about new happenings in MAJOR NEWS at 12:30 pm -12:45 pm.

Barry’ G’ goes on air from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with his show, BARRY G SHOW.
